Thermequin au Challenge de l'innovation 2023

Innovation Challenge 2023

The Cheval Passion Innovation Challenge rewarded six winners, with varied innovations. First prize went to Duc Design for its personalized riding helmets. In second place, Askara Équitation was distinguished for its airbag vest intended for young riders, followed by Rid’Up with a new stirrup leather attachment system. Three special mentions were also awarded:
  • Sustainable development mention: Equi Bien-Être for a product eliminating sarcoids.
  • Service and benefits mention: Eqipona for the Trust Technique, a mindfulness practice with animals.
  • Equipment mention: Thermequin, for its products based on Dead Sea mud. Thermequin stands out for its range rich in minerals, particularly magnesium, beneficial for cell regeneration. These multifunctional products are designed to treat various skin, tendon, muscle and joint problems, offering a natural and effective solution thanks to the properties of Dead Sea mud.

Balneotherapy is becoming more popular

Equine balneotherapy, which includes water treatments and therapies such as clay therapy, is growing in popularity in France, expanding its use beyond high-performance athletes to include all types of horses. Although banks are still hesitant to finance this expensive equipment, demand is increasing. Centers like Cavall'eau welcome professionals and amateurs alike, offering a variety of treatments for rehabilitation, physical and mental preparation, or post-exercise recovery.

Balneotherapy equipment includes aquatic treadmills, cold immersion spas, vibration plates and solariums, each with specific benefits such as improving musculature, reducing inflammation and stimulating blood circulation. These centers often collaborate with other professionals, such as veterinarians and massage therapists, to provide comprehensive care.

Thermequin

An innovative aspect of equine balneotherapy is the use of Dead Sea mud, introduced by the Thermequin brand. These muds, rich in minerals such as magnesium and bromine, offer unique properties for horse care. Géraldine Paradis, co-founder of Thermequin, explains that these muds help relieve muscle pain, reduce congestion, treat inflammation and accelerate cell regeneration. Thermequin products, appreciated for their effectiveness and ease of use, quickly found their place on the market, demonstrating the benefits of external care for equine well-being.

The benefits of clay

Clay is often used in body wraps to relieve muscle and joint pain and promote recovery after exercise or injury.

Dead Sea mud, used by Thermequin, is new on the market, ten times richer in minerals than water from other seas. It has regenerative properties for the skin, tendons, muscles and joints, and is combined with natural ingredients such as Viscous Inula and Artemisia for anti-inflammatory and decongestant effects.
